Honda recalls over 720,000 vehicles for fuel pump cracks, posing fire risk.

Honda is recalling approximately 720,800 vehicles from multiple models due to potential cracks in the high-pressure fuel pump, which may cause fuel leaks. Affected models include the 2023-2024 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2025 Honda Civic and Civic Hybrid, and 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. According to an Oct. 14 report submitted to the NHTSA, these cracks could lead to fuel leaks, increasing the risk of fire, crash, or injury if exposed to an ignition source.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported, though Honda has received 145 warranty claims since the first case in February 2023. The automaker encourages owners of affected vehicles to visit authorized dealers for free inspections and, if necessary, fuel pump replacements. Notification letters will be sent to customers starting in December. The issue originated from improper production of the fuel pump, which has since been addressed with improved manufacturing processes.
