50 die of coronavirus in Iran, confirms Iranian minister

The novel coronavirus killed no less than 50 people in the northern city of Qom in the last two weeks, as stated by the Iranian lawmaker, reports local media.
According to a semiofficial news agency, Ahamd Farahani was addressing the parliament.
Farahani said the region is not capable enough to tackle the virus, as the health care workers are dealing with the contagious persons without medical kit and apposite protection.
Several pharmacies lack protective medical tools like masks, he added.
More than 12 people were killed and 47 suffering from the novel coronavirus in Iran, as per state media reports.
Turkey, on the interim, closed its borders with Iran and ceased flight operation to and from Iran to keep the coronavirus from spreading.
In China, the epicenter of the outbreak, the death toll has raised to 2,594 with more than 77,000 confirmed cases.
The world health organization has declared an international health emergency ahead of the coronavirus outbreak.
