Brown Honors Families of Fallen Service Members Ahead of Memorial Day

May 24, 2024: Air Force Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, honored families of fallen service members at the 30th Annual National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp in Arlington, Virginia.

Addressing approximately 2,200 attendees, Brown emphasized the sacrifices of service members and the nation’s gratitude to their families. “Their service and sacrifice are forever etched into the story of our nation,” he said.

The event, hosted by the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), offers support through workshops, activities, and sharing sessions. The Good Grief Camp provides a safe space for children to explore grief and healing.

“Throughout this weekend, you will find compassionate support, shared stories, and helpful resources,” Brown noted.

Reflecting on his Memorial Day tradition, Brown shared, “I run around Arlington National Cemetery and the war memorials to reflect on those we’ve lost.”
