U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers stationed at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas, intercepted over 41 pounds of THC products concealed within a commercial shipment during outbound inspections. The seizure, which included THC-laden vape cartridges, seltzer cans, gummies, and roll-on gels, reflects CBP’s ongoing efforts to prevent the export of illicit substances and ensure consumer safety.
Port Director Alberto Flores praised the officers’ targeting methods, which flagged a tractor and trailer for secondary inspection due to inadequate export documentation. During the inspection, CBP officers discovered 41.71 pounds of THC products as well as three Colt AR trigger components and 16 AR-15 barrel nut tools. The shipment, tractor, and trailer were seized by CBP officers, and Homeland Security Investigations agents have since initiated a criminal investigation into the case.
