Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi welcomed Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at Cairo airport on Sunday, marking the beginning of Tebboune’s Arab tour. The Egyptian presidency did not disclose the length of Tebboune’s visit. Following Egypt, the Algerian leader plans to visit Oman. According to the Algerian presidency, the purpose of the tour is to enhance the “bonds of brotherhood and cooperation” between the nations. This marks Tebboune’s first trip to Egypt since his re-election last month; he last visited Cairo in January 2022.
