EU Approves 14th Sanctions Package Against Russia Over Ukraine War

The European Union on Thursday approved its 14th package of sanctions against Russia in response to the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has now lasted for more than two years.

“EU Ambassadors just agreed on a powerful and substantial 14th package of sanctions in reaction to the Russian aggression against Ukraine,” the Belgium Presidency of the EU Council announced on X. “This package provides new targeted measures and maximizes the impact of existing sanctions by closing loopholes.”

The new sanctions aim to increase pressure on Russia by introducing additional targeted measures and enhancing the effectiveness of previous sanctions through stricter enforcement and closing existing loopholes.–News Desk
