EU tells Czech Republic to pause S. Korea nuclear deal!

EU Urges Czech Pause on Korean Nuclear Deal Over Subsidies

The European Union has requested that the Czech Republic temporarily suspend the finalization of a nuclear agreement with South Korea’s Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) amid concerns regarding possible market distortions caused by foreign subsidies. According to a letter obtained by AFP, EU Industry Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné indicated that Brussels is currently collecting information to determine whether KHNP benefited from foreign financial contributions that may have given it an unfair competitive advantage.

This request represents an initial step that could potentially result in the launch of a formal investigation into the matter.
