Gallant Discusses U.S. Sanctions on Religious IDF Battalion

Overnight, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant met with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi to discuss a report on possible U.S. sanctions against the “Netzach Yehuda” battalion. They explored actions to prevent the sanctions. Following these discussions, Gallant communicated with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew to advocate for the IDF, highlighting its adherence to international law.

Gallant emphasized the critical role of the Netzach Yehuda battalion in combating Hezbollah, Hamas, and other threats, noting their operations comply with IDF values and international standards. He stressed that criticizing the unit undermines the entire defense force and urged the U.S. to reconsider the sanctions, highlighting the scrutiny this issue is receiving globally.–News Desk
