Tension has been rising between US and Iran.

Talks between the two diplomats dwelt on the latest developments in the region and the need to reach peaceful solutions to crises, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Last week, Washington sent a Patriot missile battery and a Navy amphibious transport dock ship to the Middle East in response to unspecified threats from Iran.–AA
