Israel Allows Private Hiring of Foreign Workers for Manufacturing, Construction

The Director Generals Committee on Foreign Workers, chaired by PMO Director General Yossi Shelley, has approved a decision allowing employers in Israel’s manufacturing and construction sectors to privately hire foreign workers. This move, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s directive, enables the immediate recruitment of up to 3,000 workers for the manufacturing industry and 13,000 for the construction sector, providing rapid solutions for workforce shortages. The decision also seeks to expedite bilateral agreements and ensure legal frameworks are in place to protect workers’ rights.–News Desk
