Israel detains sister of Hamas leader in Be’er Sheva

Israeli authorities arrested the sister of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, at her residence in Be’er Sheva on Monday. The 57-year-old Sabah Abdul Salam was taken into custody by police and the General Security Service (Shin Bet) for her alleged connections with Hamas members, expressing support for the organization, and engaging in incitement, according to Israel’s public broadcaster.

During the arrest, officials reportedly seized documents, communication devices, and mobile phones from her home, which they claim suggest her involvement in activities that pose serious security risks. Hamas has yet to respond to the allegations made in the broadcaster’s report.–News Desk
