Manchester City squeaks past Southampton with a quick Haaland strike

Manchester City claimed a tight 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday in the ninth round of the English Premier League, with Erling Haaland’s early score proving to be the match-winner.

Competing at the Etihad Stadium, Haaland found the net in the fifth minute, seizing a well-timed pass from Matheus Luiz Nunes. The quick goal held firm throughout the game, earning City the three points.

The win keeps Manchester City leading the Premier League standings with 23 points, while Liverpool, in the runner-up spot, still has a match in hand.

Pep Guardiola’s squad also stretched its Premier League unbeaten streak to 32 matches, a run extending back to a loss against Aston Villa last December.
