PM Shahbaz seeks global investment in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited global investors to explore opportunities in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy. Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh on Tuesday, he emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to innovation, aligning with the initiative’s theme, “Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow.”

The Prime Minister highlighted significant potential for international partnerships in Pakistan’s healthcare and education sectors. He stated, “The future of human advancement lies in collaboration; no country can fully harness tomorrow’s potential without the support of others.”

Sharif encouraged global investors to bring their expertise as Pakistan embarks on a journey of resilience and shared prosperity. He reiterated the nation’s transformative path toward stability and growth, calling for collaborative efforts with friends and partners worldwide.

The Prime Minister outlined Pakistan’s vision for a knowledge-based economy, focusing on innovation in three key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), education, and healthcare. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to not only embracing AI but excelling in it by training skilled engineers and data scientists to leverage AI across industries.

In education, Shehbaz highlighted government initiatives aimed at reform, vocational training, and digital literacy to cultivate a tech-savvy generation. He mentioned projects like the Daanish School and the Education Endowment Program, which seek to provide quality education to deserving students.

Regarding healthcare, he commended young medical professionals for their pioneering health-tech solutions and envisioned collaboration between doctors and scientists globally for improved health outcomes. He pointed to institutions such as King Edward Medical College, NUST, and Agha Khan University as potential leaders in advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.

Additionally, the Prime Minister made a heartfelt appeal to the international community, emphasizing that global progress and prosperity cannot be achieved without restoring peace in Gaza and ending the ongoing violence there.
