Rockets fired from Lebanon injured 11 people in Israel

Rockets launched from Lebanon injured 11 individuals in central Israel on Saturday, according to Israeli emergency services. One rocket struck a home, further complicating the already tense situation as hopes for a ceasefire diminish.

The conflict between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has intensified since September, despite U.S. efforts for peace. A resident in Tira described chaos following the rocket attack, with children and women screaming as they evacuated the damaged house.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting a military base near Tel Aviv around the same time. Israeli ambulance services reported injuries from shrapnel, and air raid sirens were activated in northern Israel amid ongoing hostilities.

On the previous day, Lebanon’s health ministry reported 52 fatalities from Israeli strikes in the Baalbek area. Additionally, Israel’s military stated they killed two Hezbollah commanders near Tyre. The escalation began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, leading to significant casualties on both sides, including over 43,000 Palestinian deaths reported in Gaza and around 71 Israeli casualties attributed to Hezbollah attacks.
