Russian drone strike on Ukrainian port city of Odesa leaves 7 dead

Seven people, including a 3-month-old baby, were tragically killed when debris from a Russian drone struck an apartment block in the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa overnight, as reported by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service on Saturday. Additionally, eight individuals sustained injuries in the incident.

Oleh Kiper, the Governor of Odesa region, stated that the Shahed drone was intercepted and shot down by Ukrainian air defenses, resulting in the debris hitting the apartment building.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces have reported that the Odesa region came under attack by eight drones, out of which seven were successfully intercepted and shot down by air defenses.

According to the armed forces, air defenses successfully intercepted and shot down 14 out of 17 drones launched against Ukraine nationwide.

Kharkiv regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported on Saturday morning that more than 20 settlements in the eastern Ukrainian province had been targeted by Russian artillery and mortar attacks. Additionally, a drone attack caused damage to high-rise buildings in the regional capital, also named Kharkiv.– Web Desk
