Spot Market Electricity Prices for Friday, December 6th

On Friday, December 6, Türkiye’s day-ahead spot market will see the highest electricity price for one megawatt-hour reaching 3,000 Turkish liras between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time (1300 – 1500 GMT), according to official data released on Thursday.

The lowest price will be set at 2,000.01 liras at 1 p.m. local time (1000 GMT), the figures revealed.

Data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) indicates that the trade volume for Friday’s electricity market is expected to decrease by 8.31%, totaling around 1.59 billion liras compared to Thursday’s market.

The average arithmetic price for electricity on the day-ahead spot market is calculated at 2,528.80 liras, while the weighted average price stands at 2,558.73 liras.

For Thursday, the highest electricity price for one megawatt-hour was 3,000 Turkish liras, recorded at 9 a.m. and again between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time (0600 GMT and 1300 – 1500 GMT). The lowest price was 2,053.99 liras, registered at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

At 2:17 p.m. local time (1117 GMT) on Thursday, the exchange rate was 1 US dollar to 34.73 Turkish liras.
