On Truth Social, Trump praised Hegseth as a “fantastic, high-energy” candidate for Secretary of Defense, emphasizing his “strong and deep” support, which he believes outshines what the media reports. Trump highlighted Hegseth’s prestigious education at Princeton and Harvard and his military mindset, calling him a “WINNER” with unmatched charisma and leadership skills.
Hegseth responded with gratitude, stating, “Thank you Mr. President. Like you, we will never back down.” Despite facing backlash over accusations of sexual assault, alcohol abuse, and financial mismanagement, Hegseth has been meeting with senators to secure support. While Trump remains publicly supportive, he is also considering other options for the Defense Secretary role, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Nevertheless, Hegseth remains confident, vowing to stand by Trump as long as he is needed in the fight.
