Trump Mocks Harris During McDonald’s Campaign Stop in Pennsylvania

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump spent part of his Sunday afternoon working behind the counter at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, using the visit to poke fun at his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Sporting an apron, Trump operated the fry machine and served customers at the drive-thru in a campaign stop aimed at highlighting his claim that Harris had falsely stated she worked at the fast-food chain during her college years.

“I like McDonald’s. I like jobs. I like to see good jobs, and I think it’s inappropriate when someone puts down that they worked at McDonald’s… She never worked at McDonald’s,” Trump told reporters.

The stop in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, came just over two weeks before Election Day and appeared to target Harris, who has previously spoken about her experience working at McDonald’s in the summer of 1983.

The Harris campaign responded to the remarks, confirming that the vice president did indeed work at a McDonald’s in Alameda, California, during her time at Howard University. She reportedly operated the register and worked the french fry and ice cream machines during that summer.
