Trump senate trial wraps up by democrats and white house

Democratic prosecutors’ saying “no one is above the law” is neck and neck with white house lawyers while concluding arguments were completed at Trump’s impeachment trial in senate, framing the platform for his probable acquittal on Wednesday.
Adam Schiff, the chief house prosecutor said in an emotional speech “You can’t trust this president to do the right thing” while standing on the senate floor on Monday at the completion of the two week trial.
The California legislator informed the 100 members of the senate who will make a decision regarding Trump’s fate “Truth matters little to him”. Further “What’s right matters even less and decency matters not at all”.
Schiff said about the politician, who was a former real estate tycoon “He will not change and you know it”. he added “Now do impartial justice and convict him”.
Further on “We put our faith in the Senate”.
Cipollone said “End the era of impeachment once and for all” while arguing that the American nation and not the senate should make a decision should Trump hold the office or not. Another of Trump’s trial lawyer, jay Sekulow said impeachment by the house was “reckless” and insisted the senate to acquit. Sekulow said “The bottom line is that the president’s opponents don’t like the president and they don’t like his policies”.
On Wednesday, senate will vote at 4.00 pm and the president is more or less certain of being found not guilty.
In the senate, republican have 53 seats as compared to 47 seats of the democrats, however, a two thirds majority or sixty seven senators required to confiscate the president from his office.
A nationally broadcasted speech “State of the Union” is scheduled by trump to a mutual session of congress and no delay plan is under consideration.
December 18, Impeachment charges have been filed against Trump up on account of holding military aid to Ukraine. Schiff insisted on the senators to find “courage to stand up”.
He said “When the president tries to coerce an ally to try to help him cheat in our elections and covers it up we must say enough”, adds “He has compromised our elections and he will do so again”.
Jason cow, Colorado lawmaker said impeachment was “extraordinary remedy” as a house prosecutor. Adds, “It is in the Constitution for a reason”. Further on “In America, nobody is above the law, even those elected president of the United States”.
The votes of senators would echo throughout the history, says Crow. He said “What you decide on these articles will have lasting implications for the future of the presidency, not only for this president, but for all future presidents”
As the focus shifts on to the final vote, it is capturing attention if the democrats confronting tough re election will vote to acquit.
For Doug Jones, a democrat senator, for example, the potential election would be a tough one as he is facing election fight in Alabama, a state with overwhelming majority in favor of Trump in 2016.
A democratic senator Joe Manchin said he was “struggling” regarding his vote to impeachment.
Concluding arguments on the trial came while voters having conferences in Lowa to select a democratic candidate to confront Trump in November.
Among the front runners in Lowa is Vice president Biden and Vermont senator Bernie sander, Elizabeth Warner Massachusetts senator and Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar whose campaigning is constrained by the requisite to be in Washington for the impeachment trial.
