Turkish President: BRICS’ Stance against Israel Boosts Palestine’s Cause

ISTANBUL – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday that BRICS’ opposition to Israeli aggression would strengthen Palestine’s cause.

In a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Erdogan criticized the ongoing unconditional arms support to Israel, saying it encourages Tel Aviv’s aggression, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

The discussion covered Israel’s escalating violence, the Russia-Ukraine war, and Türkiye-Russia relations. Erdogan emphasized that Israeli attacks in Palestine and Lebanon threaten global security, and standing against Israel’s displacement of Palestinians is a “humanitarian duty.”

Erdogan also highlighted the positive impact of Türkiye-Russia coordination on Syria and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to combating terrorist groups like the PKK/YPG. He stressed the importance of defending Syria’s territorial integrity and noted that Türkiye’s relations with Russia continue to grow in all areas.
