U.S. Marines Conduct Airborne Operations During Ssang Yong Exercise in South Korea

On September 1, 2024, a U.S. Marine jumped from a Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey during the ongoing Ssang Yong exercise over Josa-ri, South Korea. This large-scale exercise is designed to enhance the U.S.-South Korean alliance through joint training, aimed at boosting amphibious capabilities for the defense of the Korean Peninsula.

The exercise involves a wide range of bilateral military operations, including amphibious landings, airborne operations, and maritime maneuvers.
