US delivers light attack aircraft to Lebanese military

Delivery comes within context of US military grant to Lebanon’s armed forces
BEIRUT: The U.S. delivered four Super Tucano light attack aircraft to Lebanon’s military on Tuesday as part of a grant to the latter.
According to a Lebanese army statement, the four planes were delivered to the Hamat airbase north of capital Beirut.
Late last year, Lebanon received a first batch of two Super Tucano aircraft from the U.S.
Produced by Brazilian aerospace conglomerate Embraer S.A., the Super Tucano is used mainly for counterinsurgency operations and pilot training.–AA
