US, UAE Hold Annual Joint Military Dialogue at Pentagon

From April 29th to 30th, senior delegations from the United States and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) convened at the Pentagon for the annual U.S.-UAE Joint Military Dialogue (JMD). This dialogue serves as a crucial platform for enhancing the defense partnership between the two nations, encompassing discussions on shared security interests and strategic objectives, as well as addressing regional challenges.

Key topics covered during the dialogue included regional threats, current security dynamics, counterterrorism efforts, maritime and air defense, and security cooperation. Of particular focus were discussions on integrated air and missile defense systems, alongside cooperation in developing emerging capabilities.

An important milestone was reached with the formalization of a bilateral technology security partnership through the signing of the Cooperative Technology Security Program (CTSP) Execution Plan by Mr. Michael R. Laychak, Director of the U.S. Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), and Major General Mubarak Saeed Al Jabri, UAE Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defence Industries.

Both the United States and the UAE reiterated their commitment to maintaining a robust bilateral defense relationship, recognizing the UAE as a key partner in addressing regional challenges. The strategic partnership between the two nations was underscored as one grounded in shared interests and priorities.

Leading the UAE delegation was Lt. Gen Eisa Al Mazrouie, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Amanda Dory, Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.–NA
