Amnesty Accuses Israel of ‘Live-Streamed Genocide’ in Gaza

Report highlights mass displacement, civilian deaths, and deliberate humanitarian crisis in besieged region

Amnesty International has accused Israel of committing a “live-streamed genocide” in Gaza, displacing 90% of the population and triggering a deepening humanitarian catastrophe. The statement comes from the group’s latest annual human rights report, released Tuesday.

According to Amnesty, the military operations since October 7, 2023, have resulted in widespread civilian deaths, the destruction of homes, and the collapse of essential services such as water, fuel, electricity, and healthcare.

Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International, said the world has been watching in real-time as Gaza’s population is systematically targeted, alleging that Israel acted with the intent to destroy the Palestinian people in the region.

The report estimates that nearly 1.9 million Gazans—roughly 90% of the population—have been forcibly displaced. Many now face hunger, disease, and severe medical shortages amid ongoing violence.

Amnesty further claims Israel committed war crimes, citing indiscriminate bombings and deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure in violation of international law.
