China Raises Alarm Over US Military Presence

China Raises Concerns Over US Military Activity Near Venezuela

China’s permanent representative to the United Nations has warned that recent US military actions near Venezuela risk undermining regional peace and stability.

Speaking at the UN, Ambassador Sun Lei criticized Washington’s moves, stating that such actions violate international norms and increase tensions in Latin America. He emphasized that military pressure near sovereign states threatens regional security.

According to Sun, the US military presence near Venezuela seriously infringes on the sovereignty and security of other countries. He added that these actions also harm the legitimate development interests of nations in the region.

Moreover, Sun stressed that the US conduct directly violates the principles of the UN Charter and international law. He urged all countries to respect national sovereignty and avoid actions that could escalate conflict.

China, he said, supports dialogue and cooperation as the only viable path to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
