Minister Escorts Journalists to Disputed LoC Sites Amid Indian Army Allegations

CNN’s Nic Robertson Visits LoC, Hears Firsthand Accounts of Alleged Indian Army Abuses

LoC, PAKISTAN — CNN’s International Diplomatic Editor, Nic Robertson, led a high-profile media visit to the Line of Control (LoC), where he met with families of two Pakistani civilians allegedly killed in a staged encounter by the Indian Army.

The victims, Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Deen, were reportedly martyred in what Pakistan claims was a fabricated incident. Their families delivered emotional appeals for justice during on-camera interviews with CNN, providing personal accounts and previously unreported details of the alleged encounter.

The visit, which was organized to give international journalists access to contested areas, included both local and foreign media representatives. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar accompanied the delegation to various sites along the LoC, including areas India has previously accused of housing terrorist infrastructure.

According to local sources and officials, journalists were shown evidence aimed at refuting Indian claims, with testimonies from residents and physical site inspections forming the core of the counter-narrative. The CNN team was also briefed on broader allegations of human rights violations committed by Indian forces near the LoC.

Defense analysts present during the visit highlighted concerns over an increase in alleged fake encounters, describing it as a growing issue that has drawn international scrutiny and concern from human rights organizations.

Speaking to the media, Minister Tarar emphasized the importance of transparency, stating, “India continues to make false allegations against Pakistan. Today, we have given the international media the opportunity to witness the truth on the ground.
