Hungary Bans Travelers from China, Iran, S. Korea and Italy

The Hungarian government has declared a state of emergency throughout the country because of the new coronavirus.

Worldwide News: On Wednesday, Minister Gergely Gulyás discussing at a joint press conference with the Coronavirus Operational Group, went public saying “Hungary declares a nationwide state of emergency.”

Minister Gergely Gulyás further made some directives to combat the outbreak of COVID-19.
He said that foreigners coming from Italy, China, South Korea and Iran will not be allowed to enter in Hungary. Also, he declared ban to and from on the following countries above, if any Hungarian citizen from the following countries intend to return to Hungry, he/she will be placed quarantined.

His immediate measures in the fight against the virus include the closure of universities all over the country. He said that education can be continued via electronic resources – e-learning.

However, he at the conference, too, emphasized ban on 100 larger indoor and 500 above outdoor events. He said ” these events are prohibited and gathering of hug crowd will be prohibited in order to to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.”
Additional steps taken to beat the strength of the virus include a complete prohibition on school excursions outside of Hungary. According to the directive, the validity of personal documents (ID card, driver’s license, etc.) will be extended until the end of the state of emergency.
