Iran recruits 9,000 Shia fighters in Syria

Iranian forces and their proxies have refrained approximately 9,000 young fighters in Syria from who belong to local Shia communities in the south and north-east of the country.

Worldwide News: According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) yesterday, Iranian forces and their proxies have refrained approximately 9,000 young fighters in Syria from who belong to local Shia communities in the south and north-east of the country.

There is report that around 5,350 young men were recruited by Iranian-backed Shia militias who have been placed to volunteer from the southern provinces of Syria and around 3,600 from the north-eastern provinces east of the Euphrates River.

The campaign of recruitment is accordance with SOHR. Offering financial incentives and continuous usage of religion and sectarianism is engaged carrying it out including the alleged conversion of recruits to the Shia sect of Islam for opposing the demographics of Sunni majority population of the country.

Due to the destructive living conditions and lack of earning opportunities, the campaign is further made possible for those young people to hurry to join the ranks of Iranian-backed militias because of the following reason mentioned above.
