In McHenry County, Illinois, a man sustained serious injuries on Sunday after being trapped beneath a tractor due to a bridge collapse. The incident occurred on a property located at 3200 North Route 47 in unincorporated Woodstock, according to fire officials.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District arrived at the scene shortly after 3 p.m. to find the man partially submerged in a creek but still conscious. He had been trapped under the tractor in the water for more than 30 minutes following the collapse of a wooden bridge.
He was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in Libertyville, where he was treated for serious injuries sustained during the incident and severe hypothermia from prolonged exposure to the cold water.
