Nestle Dismisses CEO Laurent Freixe; Philipp Navratil Named Successor
Istanbul, Sept. 1, 2025
Swiss food company Nestle announced on Monday that it has dismissed CEO Laurent Freixe following an internal investigation into a romantic relationship with a direct subordinate. The relationship was found to breach Nestle’s code of business conduct.
Philipp Navratil has been appointed as the new CEO.
Nestle Chairman Paul Bulcke said, “This was a necessary decision. Nestle’s values and governance are strong foundations of our company. I thank Laurent for his years of service at Nestle.” He added that the board is “confident” that Navratil will advance the company’s growth plans and improve operational efficiency.
Navratil joined Nestle in 2001 as an internal auditor and has held several senior positions, including head of the Coffee Strategic Business Unit and Nespresso. He became a member of the executive board in January.
