In a heartfelt Passover message to the nation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the people of Israel with words of unity, remembrance, and hope. Speaking on Friday, he acknowledged the emotional weight of this year’s Seder night, marked by the absence of hostages still held by Hamas, fallen soldiers, and those recovering from wounds sustained in recent conflicts.
“Many families will face empty chairs this holiday,” Netanyahu said, referencing the absence of loved ones lost or captured. He honored the memory of Elkana Wiesel, who fell in battle, quoting his final message to his family: “Don’t be sad when you part from me. Sing and support each other, because we are the generation of redemption.”
The Prime Minister declared this generation as one of victory and resilience, vowing to bring home the hostages, support the wounded, and remember the fallen. Reflecting on the events of October 7, he emphasized that Israel rose united against threats and shattered the plans of its enemies.
Netanyahu concluded with a message of faith and national strength, saying, “In every generation, they rise against us — but G-d and the spirit of our fighters save us.” He wished the entire Jewish people a joyful and meaningful Festival of Freedom, adding, “Chag Pesach Kasher Vesameach.”
