PTI Denies Imran Khan Stopped Sons from Visiting Pakistan
Sheikh Waqas Akram Calls Media Reports Misleading, Confirms Sons Informed Father Without Seeking Permission

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday categorically rejected media reports claiming that party founder Imran Khan had barred his sons from travelling to Pakistan. The party labelled such claims as baseless, misleading, and taken out of context.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PTI’s Central Secretary for Information Sheikh Waqas Akram dismissed the reports and urged journalists—particularly those reporting from Adiala Jail—to refrain from quoting the former prime minister out of context.
“The news circulating in the media regarding Imran Khan’s children is completely false. Khan has not at all prevented his children from coming to Pakistan,” Akram stated.
He further clarified that Khan’s sons had already informed their father of their intended visit, but did not seek his permission, indicating that their travel plans were made independently.
“There should be no doubt that Imran Khan’s children will come to Pakistan; only the date is yet to be decided,” he added.
The clarification follows increasing media speculation and reports from certain quarters suggesting a possible disagreement or restriction regarding the sons’ visit to Pakistan.
PTI stressed that such narratives are deliberately being spread to create confusion and mislead the public about the personal affairs of the former prime minister.
The party reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media outlets to verify facts before publishing or broadcasting sensitive information.
