Qatar and Pakistan have underscored the need for “peaceful solutions” to tackle current regional challenges, according to a joint statement following Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Doha on Oct. 30-31.
During his meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, discussions centered on enhancing bilateral ties, particularly in investment and trade, as well as expanding cooperation across various sectors. The leaders also addressed regional and global issues, emphasizing cooperation and peaceful solutions to manage current challenges.
Sharif commended Qatar’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts for regional peace, especially its mediation role in the Palestinian issue and commitment to stability in the Middle East. Qatar, along with Egypt and the US, is actively participating in international efforts to end the conflict in Gaza, where more than 43,000 people have been killed since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks.
