Russia is open to considering President-elect Donald Trump’s proposals for resolving the war in Ukraine, according to a Russian official. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow and Washington are exchanging signals through “closed channels,” though it was unclear whether these were with the current U.S. administration or Trump’s incoming team.
Ryabkov emphasized that Russia is willing to hear ideas from Trump that focus on settlement efforts, rather than continuing to supply aid to the Ukrainian government. Meanwhile, in Kyiv, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed Ukraine’s readiness to collaborate with the Trump administration, noting that President Zelenskyy was among the first world leaders to congratulate Trump and discuss future cooperation.
