Trump Takes a Jab at Trudeau

Trump Jokes About Trudeau, Refers to Him as "Governor"

WASHINGTON: U.S. President-elect Donald Trump took a playful jab at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday, referring to him as the “governor” of Canada instead of its prime minister.

“It was great to have dinner with Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Looking forward to our next meeting to continue our discussions on tariffs and trade. The outcomes will be spectacular for all!”

The comment comes amid reports that Trump suggested incorporating Canada as the 51st U.S. state during recent talks with Trudeau in Florida. These discussions reportedly followed Trump’s threats to impose steep trade tariffs once he assumes office in January.

The lighthearted remark reflects Trump’s often unconventional approach to diplomacy and trade negotiations, which have already sparked significant international attention.
