US calls for resuming talks on Lebanon-Israel sea border demarcation

According to the yesterday’s report of state-owned broadcaster of Israel, Kan, United States has raised pressure on Lebanon in order to pick up the discussion of the problem of its maritime border demarcation with Israel.

It was declared viral by the official sources at the Lebanese presidency that a month before Michel Aoun who is the president explained his wish for the resumption of talks on the issue with his close associates. He further explaining his intentions to resume conversations pointed to what they exposed as his “resentment about the way the issue is being managed,” adding that a number of calls between “diplomatic parties regarding the issue” were carried out.

However, there seems no formal and strong ties and relationship between Israel Lebanon where they have not exposed their interest in signing peace agreement which is yet to be signed. Both countries from the foundation of Israel in 1948, have long disagreed on border demarcation in the eastern Mediterranean.
