USS Bataan Joins NATO Forces in Mediterranean

On February 26, 2024, the USS Bataan, an amphibious assault ship, navigated through the Mediterranean Sea as part of a photographic exercise. In a strategic move, the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group is set to come under NATO command in the eastern Mediterranean. This transition facilitates training operations with the Allied Maritime Command’s Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 and the Turkish navy, marking a significant collaboration aimed at enhancing maritime cooperation and readiness among NATO allies.–Photo By: Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Riley Gasdia
