Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries held a late evening media conference to release a statement about a robbery and attack on Tyndall Park store employees.
President and CEO Manny Atwal said that earlier today, November 20, 2019, three employees were attacked during a robbery at the Tyndall Park store. One female staff member was taken to hospital with head injuries.
News 4 was sent a copy of security footage of the assault that shows how out of control one of the robbers was and how violent he was towards employees. At one point he appears to punch a female employee in the face without provocation. He then turns his attention to a male employee who can be seen fighting back in the video.
A second male is seen leaving the store with arms full of liquor and what appears to be a weapon.
This is the same store that has seen multiple brazen robberies over the past several months.
Atwal said that the Tyndall Park store will be the first to have a secured entrance. Customers will be required to show valid ID in order to gain entrance.
Other stores will also see the new security measures in the next several weeks but a list of those locations have not been released.
For now, the Tyndall Park store will remain closed until further notice.–Online
