Israeli Strikes Kill 25 Palestinians as Starvation Deaths in Gaza Continue to Climb
GAZA CITY:
Israeli forces killed at least 25 Palestinians across Gaza since dawn on Saturday, including 13 individuals who were reportedly seeking aid, according to hospital sources cited by Al Jazeera.
In a separate development, two more infants have died due to malnutrition, pushing the total number of starvation-related deaths in Gaza to over 120, according to health officials. More than 80 of those who have died from hunger are children. The humanitarian crisis continues to deepen amid Israeli military operations and a prolonged blockade that has severely restricted access to food and essential aid.
Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), condemned the situation, stating there is “no excuse for what is happening in Gaza.” She highlighted the immense human suffering and the breakdown of dignity faced by civilians in the besieged enclave.
“The level of human suffering and erosion of dignity has far surpassed every legal and moral limit,” Spoljaric said. She also noted that over 350 ICRC staff members remain in Gaza, many of whom are themselves struggling to secure basic necessities such as food and clean water.
