Alaska National Guard and Airmen Conduct First Tactical Sling-Load Munitions Exercise

An Alaska Army National Guard CH-47 Chinook participated in joint sling-load operations with munitions airmen at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, on September 16, 2024. This marks the first time airmen have sling-loaded munitions in a tactical configuration. The exercise is aimed at enhancing resupply flexibility, particularly for operations in remote areas, as part of ongoing training to improve readiness and coordination between the two forces.–Credit: Air Force Senior Airman Julia Lebens
