CNN Banned a Conservative for a Racist Comment

CNN has banned conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky following a controversial incident on “CNN Newsnight with Abby Phillip,” where he made a racially insensitive remark directed at journalist Mehdi Hasan. During a discussion about former President Donald Trump’s recent rally, Girdusky made a comment about Israeli attacks on Hezbollah, telling Hasan, “I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.” Hasan reacted with disbelief, asking if Girdusky was implying he should die.

CNN quickly condemned the comment, stating its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy for racism and bigotry. Anchor Abby Phillip emphasized the network’s goal of fostering civil discourse but noted that Girdusky’s remark crossed the line. As a result, Girdusky was removed from the show during a commercial break and informed that he would no longer be welcome at CNN.

In response, Girdusky criticized CNN on X, accusing the network of double standards and stating that one can remain on CNN after making false accusations against Republicans, but not for making a joke. He concluded by expressing satisfaction that America could see CNN’s true nature.
