Tel Aviv, Israel — Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant held a high-level briefing on Thursday, September 2024, to discuss the ongoing military operations on Israel’s northern border with Hezbollah. The focus of the briefing was on ensuring the safe return of northern Israeli communities to their homes and navigating the next phase of the conflict.
Joined by top military and intelligence officials, including the IDF Chief of the General Staff and senior figures from Mossad, Gallant outlined the complexities of the new phase of the war. He emphasized both the opportunities and the risks involved in Israel’s operations against Hezbollah.
“In this new phase of the war, there are significant opportunities but also significant risks,” Gallant said. He acknowledged that Hezbollah is feeling the pressure from the continuous military actions taken by Israel. “Hezbollah feels that it is being persecuted, and the sequence of military actions will continue.”
Gallant reiterated that the main objective is to ensure the safe return of Israel’s northern communities, while intensifying efforts to neutralize Hezbollah’s capabilities. “As time goes by, Hezbollah will pay an increasing price,” he warned.
The Defense Minister also highlighted Israel’s parallel efforts to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and to dismantle the Hamas terrorist organization, signaling that Israel’s multi-front approach remains unwavering.–News Desk
