German police are investigating an arson attack at a Heidelberg Materials facility near Frankfurt, where several construction vehicles were set on fire. The incident reportedly took place early Wednesday in Rosbach, with no injuries reported.
Authorities said two unidentified individuals entered the company’s yard and allegedly placed an incendiary device near the parked vehicles. Five concrete mixer trucks were completely destroyed, while two additional vehicles were damaged. Police estimated the financial losses at between €600,000 and €800,000.
A far-left group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was carried out on Anti-War Day to protest Heidelberg Materials’ alleged business activities connected to Israel. The group accused the company’s Israeli subsidiary, Hanson Israel, of quarrying stone and producing construction materials on Palestinian territory occupied by Israel. It also alleged that the company benefits financially from the occupation of the West Bank.
