Herzog Meets U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz in Jerusalem
Strengthening Diplomatic Cooperation
President Isaac Herzog met today with Ambassador Mike Waltz, the United States Representative to the United Nations, at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem. Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N., Danny Danon, also attended the meeting. Their discussion focused on the ongoing diplomatic coordination between Israel and the United States at the United Nations.
Acknowledgment of U.S. Support
President Herzog thanked Ambassador Waltz for playing a central role in securing the adoption of the historic U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803 last month. He noted that this resolution marked a significant moment in Israel’s diplomatic efforts and expressed appreciation for the United States’ consistent support.
Commitment to Implementation
During the meeting, both sides stressed the need for the full implementation of Resolution 2803 and President Trump’s Peace Plan. They also highlighted the urgent need for Hamas to return Staff Sgt. Ran Gvili, the last hostage still held in Gaza. President Herzog emphasized that bringing him home remains an immediate humanitarian and moral priority.
