Iran, Azerbaijan ink deals in various sectors including sports, health, transport and finance
BAKU: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday.
Rouhani arrived in the Azeri capital Baku on an official visit.
The two leaders held bilateral talks following national anthems of both countries.
A delegation which included several Iranian ministers accompanied Rouhani.
The ministers of both countries signed cooperation agreements in the fields of sports, culture, art, health, medicine, transport and finance.
Agreements were also signed on issues dealing with family, women and children.
Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry and Iran’s Petroleum Ministry signed an agreement for mutually operating some oil reservoirs in the Caspian Sea.
On Thursday, Aliyev and Rouhani will inaugurate a car factory in Neftchala District, located in southeast Azerbaijan, and a railway line at the Azeri and Iranian border.–AA
