Missing FBI Interview Records Raise Questions Over Epstein File Release

Dozens of FBI witness interview records from the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein appear to be missing from files released by the Department of Justice last month, according to a media review.
A log of evidence shared with lawyers for Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell lists around 325 FBI witness interview records. However, more than 90 of those entries do not appear on the Justice Department’s public website. This gap represents over one-quarter of the total interviews referenced in the log.
Interviews Linked to Allegations
Among the records not found online are three interviews connected to a woman who told investigators that Epstein abused her repeatedly beginning when she was about 13 years old. The same woman also accused US President Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her decades ago.
The absence of these interviews has raised new concerns about the completeness of the government’s disclosure.
Political Response and Legal Questions
On Tuesday, a Democratic lawmaker questioned whether the Justice Department had fully complied with the legal requirement to release all related Epstein files. The law mandates transparency regarding records connected to the late financier’s case.
Epstein, a wealthy investor, died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death and the handling of related documents have remained subjects of public scrutiny.
As a result, the missing records may intensify debate over transparency and accountability within federal investigations.
