NGOs Say Gaza Ceasefire Exists Only on Paper

Over 1400 Palestinians Killed Since Gaza Ceasefire

More than 100 humanitarian and human rights organizations said on Friday that the Gaza ceasefire had failed to bring meaningful peace, pointing to continued Israeli military attacks and restrictions on humanitarian assistance and reconstruction one year after the agreement.

In a joint statement, the groups reported that more than 1,400 Palestinians, including at least 324 children, had been killed in Israeli attacks, shootings and military operations since the ceasefire was announced. Save the Children Chief Executive Inger Ashing said the continued deaths of children and the inability of families to rebuild their lives undermined the purpose of the agreement. She added that nearly one child had been killed each day during this period.
