Norway has tightened its travel advisory for Saudi Arabia as security concerns grow following a series of attacks by Houthi forces in Yemen, Norwegian public broadcaster NRK reported Thursday.
The Norwegian Foreign Ministry is now advising citizens against all travel to areas within 110 kilometers of Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen. The warning also covers the cities of Abha and Khamis Mushait.
For other parts of Saudi Arabia, the ministry recommends avoiding non-essential travel, according to NRK.
The revised advisory comes after an increase in Houthi attacks against both military and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including airports.
Saudi authorities have reported casualties in connection with the latest attacks.
