Islamabad Reaffirms Support for Palestine

Pakistan Welcomes Hamas’ Response to Trump’s Peace Plan, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

Islamabad, October 4, 2025 — Pakistan has welcomed Hamas’ response to the peace plan proposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump. The government called it a key step toward achieving a durable ceasefire and lasting peace in Gaza.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad said the plan offers a real chance to end the bloodshed of innocent Palestinians. It also provides an opening to release hostages and Palestinian prisoners and allow unhindered humanitarian aid in Gaza. Moreover, Pakistan urged Israel to stop its attacks immediately and join a credible political process for lasting stability in the region.

The government also appreciated President Trump’s efforts for peace. It expressed hope that the initiative would lead to a comprehensive and lasting peace agreement. Therefore, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to play a constructive and meaningful role in achieving peace.

In addition, Islamabad reiterated its principled support for the Palestinian cause. It expressed full solidarity with the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for self-determination. The statement stressed that Pakistan firmly supports the creation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. This stance, it added, is consistent with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
