Israeli Forces Fatally Shoot Palestinian Youth

Palestinian Teen Killed After Israeli Gunfire Near Jerusalem

RAMALLAH: A 19-year-old Palestinian was killed on Monday after Israeli forces opened fire near the town of Bir Nabala, northwest of Jerusalem, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society and local sources.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said its emergency teams responded to reports of a young man who had been shot by Israeli forces near the separation barrier surrounding Bir Nabala.

Local sources said the victim was struck in the abdomen while near the barrier, which has been constructed on land belonging to the town. Medical teams reached the scene shortly afterward, but the teenager was pronounced dead.

Israeli authorities had not immediately commented on the incident.

The shooting comes amid continued tensions across the occupied West Bank, where violence has intensified in recent years.

According to the Palestinian Government Communication Center, military operations and attacks by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank since October 8, 2023, have resulted in the deaths of 1,179 Palestinians, while nearly 13,000 people have been injured. The agency also said approximately 24,000 Palestinians have been arrested during the same period.

The latest fatality adds to ongoing concerns over the security situation in the occupied Palestinian territories as international attention remains focused on the escalating conflict and its humanitarian consequences.
